On May 7th, 2011 Miss Brooklyn 2011- Christina Moore striked again! lol  :-). She put together another fantastic event: Performers With A Purpose "Bringing Sarcoma Awareness Center Stage". Which benefited the Sarcoma Alliance & The Miss Brooklyn Organization. It was full of alot of people, dancing and fun! Here are a few words from Christina to explain it ALL! :-) :

"As Miss Brooklyn, I wanted to spread the joy of the performing arts in our public schools while instilling in today's youth the importance of community service. With that idea in mind I created Performers With A Purpose, "Bringing Sarcoma Awareness Center Stage." For four months I taught dance to over 200 students at PS 112, PS 48 & IS 187 sharing with them the joy of dance and teaching them all about Sarcoma, the most rare form of cancer in the United States today. The program ended with a grand benefit dance performance where the 3 public schools, 8 dancing schools and 500 audience members gathered to dance and honor my aunt, Sarcoma Survivor Josephine Schiavo. The results . . . a beautiful day of dance with over $12,000 raised for the Sarcoma Alliance & Miss Brooklyn Scholarship Organization. The event turned out exactly how I envisioned it when I created the program over a year and a half ago and I am so proud to share with you the beautiful pictures/videos from that day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event become a reality, I love you all so much and could not have done it without your support. Enjoy xoxo ♥"

-Miss NY & Teen Class of 2011 with Miss NY 2010- Claire Buffie

On April 9th, 2011 at the St.George Theater in Staten Island, NY. The Miss NY Organization had its annual workshop. I was able to meet all of the other Miss & Teen contestants. The fellow teen contestants and I had the opportunity to perform our talent, receive tips from the producer and Miss NY Teen 2009- Kara Kowalski, as well as being able to get the feel of the stage in our heels :-). I enjoyed meeting up with the other girls for a fun day, I am looking forward to our pageant weekend together :-)

My sister queen Miss Brooklyn Christina Moore had put together an amazing event on Febuary 12, 2011. The event was a fundraiser which benefited the Miss Brooklyn Organization and the Sarcoma Alliance. Christina's aunt, Josephine Luca Schiavo was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer named Sarcoma. With alot of hope, help and belief Ms. Josephine overcame her cancer! It inspired Christina to bring as much awareness as possible to her platform "Performers With A Purpose, Bringing Sarcoma Awareness Center Stage." To help bring awareness she partnered up with the Sarcoma Alliance.

At Cupid's Cure I sat at table 5 which included some amazing people. The Miss Brooklyn Executive Director, Amaris Acosta, the Miss New York Executive Director, Linda Carbo, Miss New York 2010, Claire Buffie and the Executive Director of the Sarcoma Alliance, Arthur Beckert. There was great food, dancing and raffles! I had an amazing time. Christina could'nt have done a better job! At the end she raised a total of $10,500! It was a HUGE success! :-)

Josephine Schiavo, Arthur Beckert and Christina Moore gave such wonderful and touching speeches. :-)

On January 23, 2011 Darling Diva's held their 5th annual pageant. In preparation for my appearance, my big sister helped me put my crown in place. We were both extremly excited to see where my baby niece would place in her FIRST pageant ever! (Taylor Joy Elise Bellagamba at 4 months old!) :-)

With the thought of my neice competing that day, I began to reflect on who introduced me to the wonderful world of pageantry- my sister, Chrissy. She is a former Miss Greater Niagara (MAO), Miss Earth East Coast and Miss Barbados Heritage. She also placed top 5 in Miss Buffalo (MAO) and Miss Western NY (MAO). I truely thank her for opening a new door in my life for me.

The areas of competion for the Darling Diva's Pageant were introduction, beauty wear and outfit of choice. There were also several optional sections such as Mother/Daughter, Themewear and Talent. I enjoyed watching the little queens showcase their modeling ability, confidence, poise, and personality along with how much FUN they were having! :D

My neice won a trophy for best outfit of choice in her age division. Her cute little baby bikini was a hit! :-) lol

She was the only contestant that started to eat her award!! :D

Then she was crowned National Debut Queen 2011 !! :-) My family and I were shocked & VERY HAPPY!

We are proud of you Taylor. We know that this is just the very beginning for you.

Congratulations to ALL of the wonderful Darling Diva's & Dashing Dons! xoxo

On Thursday, November 11th, I thought I was simply making an appearance at this pageant. Once I got there, Ms. Cheryl Williams (Director of Darling Divas) informed  me that I would actually be emceeing the entire show with the NES National Grand Supreme winner - Keyana Williams. I had never emceed an event before so I was both nervous and excited!

Every year, Darling Divas hosts this pageant as a community service event. They do not charge the women of the Hazel Brooks Senior Center to compete. They provide crowns, sashes, trophies and gifts. I find that very generous of Ms. Cheryl :-)

It turns out that I performed quite well in my new role and the event was a huge success! I didn't bring a camera so I wasn't too happy about that :( Hopefully, I will run into those amazing women again in the future and snap some more pictures :)

Fortunately, I was able to snap a quick pic on my phone :-)
